We live in a time where quick and fast communication has become necessary to help reach and capture a wide array of audiences. This is when emojis were born to express and explain moods in situations to assist in our conversations. However, could this shortcut intended to help our ways of communication be killing our way of saying ourselves effectively? Could emojis be turning our communication and emotions into something banal and ephemeral?

We must research whether new technologies or tools like emojis can solve our society's problems. Much like the uncertainty of the internet in the 90s, I feel the emoji has the potential to transform education to build a new foundation in the field of communication, and correct use of it could evolve and adapt into new communication tools for the next generations.

This is just the beginning of new communications emerging and developing our future. We need to be ready and open to explore, learn, and teach, but never leave behind the beautiful, simple way to write and express ourselves with words. For if we grow to depend on communicating through an emoji, how would we ever be able to tell how beautiful a trip to the Smoky Mountains was? The eyes of that person you like or how disappointed you are for receiving a bitter cup of coffee.
